Torrents - 2010 May 31 MO

The Alex Jones Show today was (as advertised) all previously broadcast material [from May 24th and May 27th shows]. I suspect that Mike Rivero will do something similar on this Memorial Day holiday.

Well, Rivero's version of a Memorial Day show was to rebroadcast intact one of his older shows -- the one from Thursday, May 6 to be precise. I'm pretty sure that one is not too well seeded by now, so I'll upload today's broadcast for those who are interested.

Torrents - 2010 May 30 SU

I don't know of a better way than posting here to give a "heads-up" to consumers of these torrents. I'm going to be away from home for a few hours this afternoon/evening for something of a family outing. This is most likely going to cause my upload of the Sunday Alex Jones Show to be done later than is typical. I don't expect it to be drastically late -- probably something on the order of an hour or two.

Alex mentioned Friday that his Monday broadcast was going to not be live, but rather a "best of" program [usually meaning an assemblage of interviews taken from various shows in the past few weeks]. I don't know at this point whether today's show will be similar to that or live.

I hope today's delay does not cause much inconvenience, and I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. I will upload the Jones show and today's No Agenda as soon as possible.

Back to Sebagotown a little later than I had thought. My goal is usually to get Alex Jones uploaded within 30 to 40 minutes after the end of the show. Today is was almost exactly 3 hours. Anyway, here we go with today's torrents.

Torrents - 2010 May 27 TH

First, a caveat: Circumstances have conspired today to place me well behind my normal schedule. To those checking here in an hour or so to perhaps learn why their Alex Jones Show is not available yet -- it's probably going to be an hour or so late. My apologies.

That said, here are today's torrents in the order uploaded. The first is this week's Guns and Butter, as promised yesterday. Jones will be next, followed by No Agenda and What Really Happened, most likely in that order.

Well, a little pressure sometimes improves performance. And, no, that's not a commentary on the undersea oil volcano in the Gulf. What I mean is that a bout of frenetic work has resulted in the Jones show [featuring Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Ray McGovern and Ms. Oklahoma!] being uploaded a good bit sooner than I had originally forecast. I'm about 15-20 minutes late, rather than an hour or so.

More to come.... No Agenda may be late if it happens at all today. This one is not attributable to me, though. Adam Curry was going to be doing his half of the show from a hotel room in San Francisco rather than his home studio in LA. Unfortunately, he experienced what he calls on Twitter: "Catastrphic fail of hotel Internet." Their stream is currently replaying Sunday's show. I will update this when I have more info.

Torrents for Tuesday and tidbits of news.

OpenBitTorrent -- tracker and site -- still down [see yesterday's post here]. And for some reason the Demonoid tracker has been "actively refusing" connections for the past couple of hours. I'm hoping this does not have serious portent, because the site is up and has the appearance of normal functioning. I was able to upload the Jones show there with no problems.

Today's Mike Rivero show will be up later, and possibly something a little more... well, "edgy" than you normally see me uploading.

I had intended to say that things were running smoothly at Demonoid once again, but when I uploaded Rivero, I got this message: "The torrent you requested was deleted by its owner or a moderator." I checked back several minutes later and saw that it is showing up in the torrent list, as well as the sublist of my torrents. [link] I wish they would stop with the bogus messages.

All is not well in torrent land today.

First, let me just state that today's Alex Jones has been uploaded, but not to The Pirate Bay. For the last half hour attempts to upload there simply time out after a wait of several minutes.

The torrent was successfully uploaded to ExtraTorrent.com, Fenopy.com, BTJunkie.org and Demonoid.com.

Update: Finally was able to upload at PrirateBay!

I will shortly be updating this post with details about TPB and the OpenBitTorrent.com tracker.

TorrentFreak delivers this news:
Hollywood Lands Triple Strike On Pirate Bay, OpenBitTorrent

With the assistance of the Svea Court of Appeals, the main Hollywood movie studios have landed a triple blow on OpenBitTorrent, The Pirate Bay and site founders Gottfrid Svartholm and Fredrik Neij. The Court handed out three injunctions yesterday, one of which took the OpenBitTorrent tracker offline.

After months out of the headlines, The Pirate Bay has been dramatically back in the spotlight in recent weeks. After threatening its bandwidth supplier CB3ROB back in April, the main Hollywood studios obtained an injunction hoping to take the site offline.

This week the pressure became too much and facing huge potential damages and a possible jail sentence for its owner, CB3ROB had to cease providing bandwidth to the site, which effectively shut it down – for a few hours.

In typical Pirate Bay style the site bounced back, supported by controversial hosting provided by the Swedish Pirate Party.

Even though the site was down for a short time, file transfers didn’t stop as those continued to be facilitated by DHT, PEX and the separate OpenBitTorrent (OBT) tracker. Hosted in Sweden, OBT also made the news this week when a court ruled Wednesday that ISP Portlane must hand over the identities of its operators to the movie studios.

Although that decision could be appealed, the OpenBitTorrent site and tracker suddenly went offline in the last 24 hours. It now transpires that the Svea Court of Appeals was busy yesterday, issuing three injunctions on behalf of the studios.
Read the whole article, including text of the injunctions at TorrentFreak.com.

OpenBitTorrent.com is one of four trackers that I have been using lately. Thankfully the other three are working normally as of now. Once again I'm happy that I build in a certain amount of redundancy in the procedures I follow.

Today's torrents, as uploaded to my usual sites. But first, a word about one of yesterday's programs.

If you're not a regular listener of the No Agenda show, or if you haven't yet made the time to try it out, I have to recommend yesterday's episode to you. Adam Curry and John C. Dvorak do a show that may well be one of the best tools for waking people up from their proverbial slumber. Some might think of it as "conspiracy-lite," because it doesn't have the intensity of Alex Jones, Mike Rivero, et al. But particularly for those folks who are just realizing that they're being lied to by their government and the mainstream media, Adam and John sound a lot like a couple of reasonably intelligent "regular guys" who are -- show by show -- waking up themselves.

Still, they cover a lot of topics and cover them rather well. One of the things I like best about this show is that they publish "show notes" for each episode that profusely document each of the stories they talk about [and a few that they don't have time to cover]. This facilitates those who want to look deeper into things on their own, and offers a little comfort that's occasionally a nice thing for the just-awakening who sometimes must find themselves wondering if these Conspiracy Nuts are making it all up.

Give No Agenda a try, please. If they're not hardcore enough for you, think of someone else for whom they might be just the ticket...and share.

The Truth is Out There re Jack Blood, et al

I have noticed this week that Jack Blood seems to have returned from whatever sort of hiatus he was on, and having Jack back is a good thing.

Up until a couple of weeks ago or so, I was trying [without 100% success] to upload as torrents the Jack Blood shows [Deadline Live] that made it into his podcast archive. Then I discovered via this blog that there was another guy -- gedude -- truly doing "due diligence" to that effort.

You can find his Jack Blood show torrents, as well as Jason Bermas shows and other things of interest at ExtraTorrent, The Pirate Bay as well as some at Demonoid.

What's more, he has a much more full-featured blog than the one here, named the truth is out there. There's a whole lot of work going on there. Check him out!

TPB Update, Update

Hooray! The Pirate Bay is allowing uploads again!

My experience so far, though, in uploading yesterday's three torrents to get caught-up is that uploads happen painfully slowly and sometimes require multiple attempts. Hopefully the gears will be running smoothly very soon.

TPB -- these days calling itself "the world’s most resilient BitTorrent tracker" -- had a little help from a unique benefactor in pulling off its reanimation. TorrentFreak tells the story:
"Today, on 18 May, the Swedish Pirate Party took over the delivery of bandwidth to The Pirate Bay," says the Party’s Rick Falkvinge in a statement.

"We got tired of Hollywood’s cat and mouse game with the Pirate Bay so we decided to offer the site bandwidth," he adds. "It is time to take the bull by the horns and stand up for what we believe is a legitimate activity."

The Pirate Party say they will provide bandwidth to the site’s homepage and search engine.

"The Pirate Bay is a search engine, and as such it is not responsible for the results," notes Falkvinge.

The Party adds the attempts at censoring The Pirate Bay "is an attempt to silence one of today’s most important opinion makers in matters of civil liberties and rights on the web," adding that it is "nothing less than political censorship, and something that any democratic-minded person must reject."

With a general election coming up in Sweden, the Pirate Party’s move is also an attempt to reiterate what the Pirate Party stands for.

"It feels great to get an opportunity like this to demonstrate that we put our money were our mouth is," Falkvinge told TorrentFreak. "We’re not your run-of-the-mill politician who commissions reports and spends 8 hours a day avoiding blame. We’re people committing our own resources and time to the values we believe in."

"The only thing we have in common with today’s politicians is that you can vote for us, and I hope this demonstrates how we are prepared to take responsibility for civil liberties and the future of the net in a very direct way," he added.

TPB Update

It appears that, for the N-th time, The Pirate Bay has risen phoenix-like from the ashes! The old ship is afloat again.

Unfortunately it's not all good news. Although the site is accessible, uploading is not working currently. It does not seem to be a CAPTCHA problem [the cause of their last round of uploading difficulties], so the hope is that it will not take a very long time to fix.

So we heartily welcome TPB back to the land of the living and anxiously await being able to applaud their return to full functionality. "Functionality" is a real word, right?

Pirate Bay Problem

As regular readers here are most likely aware, The Pirate Bay [TPB] is one of the five "core" sites to which I normally upload my torrents daily. The others are ExtraTorrent, BTJunkie, Demonoid and Fenopy.

Today when I realized that TPB had been down for about 12 hours, I checked their forums and found this message in the "TPB Site Status" discussion thread:
The Pirate Bay is suffering some temporary downtime as the bandwidth provider has stopped passing through traffic.

That is perhaps a slight understatement of the situation. A more detailed picture can be seen here:
http://newsblog.thecmuwebsite.com/post/German-court-orders-Pirate-Bay-hosts-to-shut-it-down.aspx
http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay-goes-down-following-legal-pressure-100517/
http://torrentfreak.com/hollywood-gets-injunction-to-disconnect-the-pirate-bay-100512/

TorrentFreak also has an English translation of the German court's full injunction.

TPB says this is "temporary downtime." "Temporary" is certainly preferable to permanent, but I will be (pleasantly) surprised if this is favorably resolved quickly. I'll update as I learn more.

I hope this was just a minor hiccup of some kind, but last summer I began getting this message every time I uploaded, and most of the time it appeared that my torrents actually HAD been deleted... and I was not able to re-up them. Housekeeping - May 13 TH

There are a couple of things I want to mention that are not strictly torrent-related.

First of all, an overdue welcome to the stalwart few "followers" that this little blog has already been able to attract. A couple of you have been around virtually since the beginning and a couple more have just joined this week. I just wanted to take a moment and say that I appreciate your interest, as well as the encouragement that comes from not seeing simply blank space there!

I also want to mention that there's a shiny new RSS "chicklet" there at the top of the right column. I finally got around to configuring the syndication feed, so that if you use a reader of any flavor [I use the Google Reader, but I know there are lots of good ones] you can now subscribe to this blog.

It is my intention that in the very near future I will also set things up so that you can receive posts via email if you so choose.

If there is to be a central theme/concern here, I want it to be getting the information out and into the hands of as many people as possible... as efficiently as possible... and by any means possible.

Sincere thanks again to everyone for the support.

Torrents - 2010 May 10 MO

I'm going to try sort of a pseudo "live blogging" approach today -- i.e., instead of waiting until the very end of the day to post here the sum of what I have uploaded, I am going to attempt to update this post as uploads are complete. If you've been following here you surely know by now that formats/protocols continue to be somewhat in a state of flux. I imagine it won't take too long, though, to arrive at a way of doing things that works best for me and then we'll have a greater measure of stability/consistency.

Today's torrents:

As No Agenda [which streams on Sundays and Thursdays] approaches its 200th episode, the show just gets better and better. In my humble opinion it's a better tool than many bigger/better-known shows for waking up people who are currently addicted to mainstream corporate media.

Torrents - 2010 May 03 MO

So far for this day I have uploaded the day's Alex Jones Show, but I anticipate doing Mike Rivero's show as well.

The post of yesterday's torrent uploads, that contained individual links to each index site for each torrent is probably NOT going to be the protocol that I follow on a regular basis. It is just too time consuming.

I'll try to mention each day the sites to which I have uploaded and allow users to then search either by torrent name or by my username [i.e., sebaygo1] for what they want to download.

I have received two suggestions so far of other potential upload sites. One I have looked at, one I have not yet. Please understand that while I appreciate any suggestion to help "spread the word" farther and more effectively, I do have only so much time to devote to this effort each day.

Currently, if everything is working normally I upload to a total of six sites daily. That uploading plus preparing the torrents and the various editing of the shows and their descriptions... well it all adds up. Truthfully, I don't feel the need to upload to more sites unless I find one that seems like a singular opportunity.

If any of the people who download my torrents want to upload them elsewhere, they have my blessing. I guess I'm vain enough that I'd like to receive a small acknowledgment in the torrent name or description, but it's not something I'm going to get angry about if it doesn't happen. What we do with these materials, after all, should be for a good greater than our individual selves.

Having said all that, here's where I uploaded today's Alex Jones torrent:
BTJunkie, Demonoid, ExtraTorrent, Fenopy, The Pirate Bay and Torrentzap.

Update.
I have now uploaded the Monday, May 3rd edition of Mike Rivero's What Really Happened radio show. It has been suggested to me that uploaded every torrent every day to six indexers (some of which "overlap" somewhat) may be a bit of overkill. I tend to think of it more in terms of a charming obsessive/compulsive affliction, but I think I may try cutting back just a little and see how it all works for me.

Therefore, the Michael Rivero show torrent was uploaded to:
BTJunkie, Demonoid, ExtraTorrent, Fenopy and The Pirate Bay.

Embarrassed Update. The title of this post has been corrected because Monday was May the THIRD, not May the ninth!

Torrents - 2010 May 02 SU

Finally. Today was much more like the way I was doing things a few weeks ago... before my own slow-down, and before the problems at Demonoid and TPB.

Today I was able to upload the Sunday edition of The Alex Jones Show, the Sunday edition of the No Agenda podcast, and Saturday's What Really Happened with Michael Rivero.

I'm not certain that I'll continue posting links to everything, everywhere when all the sites are working o.k. It IS time-consuming, and I am investing a good amount of time already in this effort of mine. We will see how it works out in the coming days.
But for now, here are the new torrents.

Alex Jones Show - 2010 May 02 SU
BTJunkie || Demonoid || ExtraTorrent || Fenopy || TPB || Torrentzap
No Agenda - 2010 May 02 SU
BTJunkie || Demonoid || ExtraTorrent || Fenopy || TPB || Torrentzap
What Really Happened - 2010 May 01 SA

BTJunkie
|| Demonoid || ExtraTorrent || Fenopy || TPB || Torrentzap

Enjoy!

A Happy Update

Two bits of good news to report this day. CAPTCHA continues to work at The Pirate Bay, and Demonoid can be counted as back among the living!

I don't know the exact status of the DDoS attack that had virtually knocked Demonoid out for a few days, but the update statement on their main page says: "We have the problem under control now." I am going to take them at their word and wish them all the best.

No torrents from me today. My plan was to get back in the swing of things more and upload the Saturday edition of Mike Rivero's What Really Happened and the weekly Webster Tarpley show, World Crisis Radio. As it turned out, however, Tarpley was rebroadcasting his show from last Saturday, and my computer is somewhat bogged down with other tasks right now so I'm probably going to delay until tomorrow uploading the Rivero show.

I am thankful for the interest that's been shown in the blog so far. Please keep the comments coming and keep spreading the word about spreading the word.

Oh, and have a great weekend!
