Ron Wyden Takes on NSA; Capitalism Obstructing Net Neutrality; Musical Guest "The Siren"

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin calls attention to a new Senate bill that would challenge the NSA's and introduce a constitutional advocate to protect civil liberties. Abby then features part II of her interview with Robert McChesney, communications professor and author of Digital Disconnect, discussing the effect technology has the relationship between capitalism and democracy He also speaks about the need for a vibrant independent free press. Abby then speaks with Zoe Carpenter, reporter for the Nation, about the 'Free Flow of Information Act', a bill whose broad definition of journalism is raising questions over the protection of journalists. BTS wraps up the show with a musical performance by The Siren, fronted by Kaisi Berick, epicstep artist performing the song 'Social Control'.
