On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks about Bangladeshi factory workers revolting against unsafe working conditions and unfair wages. Abby then talks to fracking activist Sharon Wilson, about the dangers fracking to human health and the environment, and how communities are fighting back. Abby then breaks down the hypocrisy of the GOP pushing to de-fund food stamps by separating the program from the congressional farm bill, all the while accepting millions of dollars in kickbacks from the federal government in the form of subsidies for their private farms. Abby then speaks with Georgetown University professor, Chris Chambers, about the importance of rhetoric for politicians to gain public trust, breaking down Obama's masterful manipulative style of speaking. BTS wraps up the show by celebrating Banned Books Week, highlighting the top five books that are challenged in American schools, libraries and book stores across the nation.
