Breaking the Set No. 213 -- 2013 Jul 30 TU

Update: Audio file link fixed.

Cops that are Robbers, Fast Food Workers Unite, The Manning Verdict is In

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin goes over the case of two Detroit police officers who have been arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies. Abby then talks to David Moberg, Senior Editor of In These Times about the hundreds of fast food workers in several US cities who staged a walk-out of their respective restaurants, in a mass protest demanding higher pay, and the nationwide significance of these demonstrations. Abby then calls out the corporate media's disproportionate coverage of the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal while practically avoiding news of the verdict in the Bradley Manning trial, a story that has far more important implications for US citizens. BTS wraps up the show with an interview with David Seaman, journalist and host of the David Seaman Hour, about the latest NSA spying updates and the ongoing efforts underway to counter the growing surveillance state in America.
