Jimmy Carter Defends Snowden, Zimmerman Verdict and Jim Crow, Judging Rolling Stone Cover

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin reports on President Jimmy Carter's public support for NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, and talks about legal measures being taken in New Jersey to protect citizens from unwarranted surveillance. Abby then talks Carl Dix, activist and national leader of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, about the verdict in the Zimmerman trial and what it says about race in the US justice system. Abby then goes over the corporate media hypocrisy over a recent Rolling Stone magazine cover which features Boston bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and calls out the corporate media for focusing more on the cover than the many unanswered questions that remain regarding the case. BTS wraps up the show by speaking to comedian, of Host of the 'Moment of Clarity' web series, Lee Camp, about news that merits laughs, including Rep. Peter King's potential presidential bid and Colorado residents shooting down drones.
