Heat Emergency

.
Today may not be the hottest day of the year here, but it will probably be at least close to it. Today's forecast high for Houston is 106 but here in the Spring-Conroe area high temperatures have been averaging about 2 degrees hotter than Houston. So, maybe 108 this afternoon.

I don't bring this up as a preface to a discussion about human-caused global warming. No, the reason I mention it is that our air conditioner stopped working at about 10:00 a.m. today!!

In a situation like this our lease requires us to contact the property management office, and of course no one is in that office on Saturday. There is no alternative, emergency number to call. All we can do is hope that someone checks the voicemail AND is able to get a technician out to us before we die from heat stroke or whatever.

This is one heck of a birthday present.

I should still be able to do Webster Tarpley's show. I have a small electric fan sitting on my desk, about a foot away from my face. Wish us luck.

Update :: As of 2:30 p.m.
