Housekeeping - 2010 Sept 21 TU

Just a few quick items.....

First, welcome to the couple of new blog followers we have here, and apologies for not making a recognition of you sooner.

Second, the torrents are running a few hours behind the usual schedule today due to a combination of factors that would take an inordinate amount of time to delineate. Suffice it to say that things should be back closer to "normal" tomorrow.

Finally, I am not pleased with the language and tenor of certain comments that have been posted to this blog in recent days. The source of these may be one person, or more than one, but that doesn't matter. As they became more frequent and unpleasant, my first thought was to either disable comments altogether or to not permit anonymous commenting -- neither of which seemed very attractive to me.

What I am going to do at this point is to state that if this unpleasantness continues, I will institute comment moderation. I put in a lot of time and effort here, and I do not relish the idea of making more work for myself that does not directly go to the principal goals of this blog. I will not, however, continue to tolerate the name-calling and obvious trolling that I have been seeing.

That is all I intend to say on the subject.

my apologies Seb, and everyone else at this fine blog for my rude comments made to one "Anonymous", they were out of line and won't happen again.

On a side note, how is it that after 8 hours there is only 1 seeder to the Rivero show (21st)? please seed folks so we may all get the torrent. Thanks and again I am sorry for my rude comments.

my apologises as well. i shouldn't bite.

and the talmud timmy reference is to the person who uses that login name on piratebay and leaves similar comments regarding AJ etc. (thought it was the same person leaving the anonymous comments here)

Hey the Mike Rivero show of the 21st won't start downloading for me at all. Message is 'torrent metadata needed' ?

All I can say at the moment about the problem with the Tuesday Rivero show torrent is that I am baffled. I appreciate zapoper posting those direct download links.

I was trying something different yesterday for recording WRH when an unrelated computer problem caused me to lose about the last 10 minutes of hour 1 and the first few minutes of the 2nd hour.

So, I asked SL to get the zapoper files from Concen. All I did to them before uploading the torrent was
(a) change the filenames to fit my standard naming convention,
(b) added mp3 tags, and
(c) ran them through the utility MP3Gain to see if any volume normalization was needed. It changed them only about 1.5 dB.
