We discuss Sheldon’s latest column on FFF titled “Lysander Spooner on The National Debt,” highlighting the illegitimacy of “debts contracted in the name of ‘the United States,’ or of ‘the people of the United States.’” We touch on issues of taxation, private property, the “social contract,” and the fallacy of the “consent of the governed.”
