Guns: Trafficking Deadly Commodities, Standardized Boycott, and Press Freedom Day

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks to Kathi Lynn Austin, executive director of the Conflict Awareness Project, about the global arms trade, the UN's International Arms Trade Treaty, and the need for higher international standards of regulation of these deadly commodities. Abby then talks to Cynthia Copeland, educator and parent, about the growing resistance against standardized testing, highlighting examples of boycotts and walk-outs of statewide standardized tests. BTS wraps up the show commemorating World Press Freedom Day by pointing out the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, and emphasizing the importance of the fourth estate for a healthy democracy.
