Breaking the Set, No. 008 -- 2012 Sep 13 TH

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin highlights U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest for ruling against the latest National Defense Authorization law for infringing on the constitution, and calls out Rep. Allan West for calling the Obama Forward Campaign a 'Marxist-Socialist Agenda.'

Abby talks to the Director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force, Sasha Ghosh-Siminoff about the inevitability of a US Intervention in Syria, and interviews the host of RT's Capital Account Lauren Lyster about Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's announcement of yet another round of quantitative easing to aid the sluggish US economy.

Abby rounds out the show citing the hypocrisy of the DOJ taking two years to call out BP even though they have been awarding them contracts ever since they caused the largest environmental crisis in the history of the world.

Thanks to all the commenters who offered suggestions for a Net Video Hunter replacement. One of those I had used in the past and I took a look a couple of the others. What I used to get this show was a Firefox extension that I simply stumbled upon. It has a very generic sounding name, "Download YouTube Videos as MP4." It adds a "download" button to the YouTube page, right next to the existing "share" button. When you click download, it gives you a dropdown menu of resolution options that are available for that particular video as well as a choice between .flv and .mp4. For now, I am really liking it. You can take a look at it here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/25105. The description there says you need to first install Greasemonkey or Scritpish to use this with Firefox. I use Pale Moon, which is essentially a Windows-optimized version of Firefox, and I did not install either of those. YMMV.
