On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks about the one year anniversary of Operation Pillar of Defense, where 6 Israelis and 160 Palestinians lost their lives in a brutal missile strike on civilian infrastructure. Abby then talks to investigative journalist for truth in media, Ben Swann, about the rise of alternative media. They also cover everything from jury nullification to building a bipartisan coalition to restore civil liberties. Abby then remarks on the discovery of mysterious wireless boxes installed by police across the city of Seattle and talks about how outrage from residents have forced police to put the program on hold until proper oversight can be enforced. Abby then speaks with Sue Wilson of Media Action Center, who is single handedly taking on media conglomerates and the FCC to demand that public airwaves be put back in the hands of the people. BTS wraps up the show by giving a call to action for a March Against the Mainstream Media on November 16 by talking about the abysmal failure of the fourth estate and the lack of public knowledge about important issues.
