As you may remember, a couple of weeks ago I became a grandfather for the first time. If the weather forecasts hold, Mrs. S and I are going to take advantage of brief break in the wintry weather in Northern Arkansas and make a journey up to meet the baby boy. This little guy is the first in generations of my family to be born with any living grandfathers (and he has two). So, if I arrive alive I will sort of be making history -- first grandfather in my family line to see a grandchild in over 100 years.
It is a 10 to 12 hour trip, depending on pit stops, traffic, road conditions, etc. The plan now is to leave here tomorrow morning (Wed., Feb. 5) and be back home Monday (Feb. 10) evening/night.
I will continue to work on the blog as much as I am able, but there will be nothing posted during the daytime and early evening tomorrow or Monday.
If you are so inclined, prayers for a safe journey will be appreciated.
