So far today I am unable to upload a standard torrent [with the usual text files] to the PirateBay in either Audio/Other or Other/Other categorizations. I have discovered that TPB has unilaterally re-categorized dozens of my recent torrents from Audio/Other to Other/Other. It has been about 20 hours since my last post on their support forum, and I have received no response or acknowledgment.

Update 1 ::

The Jones show torrent finally went through at TPB [in Other/Other] after about 35 minutes of trying.

Update 2 ::

I have just discovered that the re-categorization of a number of my recent torrents at TPB was part of a wholesale screw-up, not anything to do with the presence of text files. This eloquent explanation is from a member of the PirateBay crew.

The database got f**ked up, every torrent submitted from 2010-07-06 to a couple of hours ago had to be restored. Unfortunately every torrent ended up in other/other as anonymous, stripped from both the bayimg picture and the tags. We've manually moved most of the torrents in top100 to the right place, but obviously we can't do that with all torrents.

Your torrents is still there, and I think you should able to see them in http://thepiratebay.org/settings If you want to remove the anonymous setting and add tags/picture again, you'll have to wait until the edit works again. Don't even bother deleting torrents asking for the hash to be cleared, we won't do it.

It might take a while until you can edit again though, since some of the code is messed up and needs to be re-written.

To give you an idea of how promptly problems are corrected at TPB, that was posted on the forum 6 days ago.
